A Vietnam
Veteran |
|
Perhaps this artist's most controversial picture. I would take it to Vietnam Veterans' Reunions and be praised or condemned for it. There were Vietnam Veterans who had become ministers of the faith, and I received praise from each and every one of them. I guess they understood. And there were Vietnam Veterans who would break down in tears, saying "that's me" or "that's us", hugging me and saying "thank you". There were a few who condemned me as having made a "sacrilegious" painting. At a Vietnam Veterans' reunion in Indianapolis, although I had paid for my booth to show this picture, I was asked--told--to dismantle my area and leave, but not before several prints of this picture were purchased. Anyone with inquiries about any part of my meaning in this picture can inquire and I guarantee an answer. And I do still have prints available, signed as you wish.
